The zero-ACE comparison group had 1.2% attempted suicide among 3,852 respondents. Questionnaires were mailed to 13,494 adults, 9,508 responded, and 8,056 remained in the principal analysis. Odds ratios were adjusted for age, gender, race, and educational attainment; retrospective self-report demonstrates association and limits causal inference.
