Ancient Ground

Before the city.
Before the concrete.
Before the name we gave to everything.
It was already here.
And it remembered us.

The spiral in the nautilus shell and the galaxy above
The hexagon in the honeycomb — sacred geometry of love
Fibonacci written in the sunflower and the storm
The divine hand in every pattern that preceded human form
The ancient forest breathes a frequency the body understands
The healing rising through the canopy to reach us where we stand
Two hours beneath the canopy and cortisol begins to fall
The oldest pharmacy on earth — no prescription — open to all

The earth is not a resource to be taken at our will
It is the living system we were born inside and need still
The mycelium beneath our feet connects what cannot see
A wood wide web of ancient wisdom running under every tree

ANCIENT GROUND — it was here before the word
ANCIENT GROUND — the oldest song ever heard
Sacred geometry in every wave and root and wing
The divine design beneath the surface of everything
ANCIENT GROUND — the forest knows your name
ANCIENT GROUND — your body and the earth the same
You did not come into this world — you came out of it
And every cell remembers where it fit

The coral reef in color like a city built from light
The aurora painting violet green across the Arctic night
bioluminescence in the ocean — living fire in the deep
The synchronized firefly — ten thousand lights — a perfect beat
The monarch butterfly navigating thousands of miles by sun
The migration of the wildebeest — the circle never done
The volcanic eruption levels everything to start again
Creation wearing the face of destruction — and we call it pain

Take your shoes off.
Feel the ground.
The electrons in the earth
Are already healing you.

The indigenous knew what the laboratory later proved
That the land and the body speak the same ancient groove
That the mountain is not a backdrop to our story — it is the text
And the river is not a resource but the sentence and the next
We did not inherit this earth from the ones who came before
We are borrowing it from the children knocking at the door

ANCIENT GROUND — we are the stewards now
ANCIENT GROUND — the sovereign takes the vow
To plant the seed — to tend the soil — to read the water’s sign
To leave the forest standing — to protect the old growth line
ANCIENT GROUND — the wrath and wonder both are true
ANCIENT GROUND — destruction makes the world brand new
The earth does not need saving — it needs us to remember
That we are not the landlords — we are just a living ember

Ancient ground.
Ancient ground.
Before the name.
Before the word.
Still here.
Still singing.
Still ours to tend.

The spiral in the nautilus, the hexagon in the honeycomb and Fibonacci in the sunflower were written before any of it had a name. The title track treats the earth as a living text and people as its stewards.
