AFI catalog record: They Live (1988) traces back to Ray Nelson's 1963 short story "Eight O'Clock in the Morning" through a 1985 comic.

Sep 1988 AmCin and Nov 1988 Starlog articles reported that They Live was based on the comic book Nada, published in a 1985 issue of Eclipse Comics' Alien Encounters, which in turn borrowed the narrative from Ray Nelson's short story, ‘Eight O'Clock in the Morning.’
