A 2022 lab study found the Pfizer vaccine mRNA was reverse transcribed into DNA inside human liver cells in a dish within six hours. The authors said they did not yet know whether it integrates into the genome.

At this stage, we do not know if DNA reverse transcribed from BNT162b2 is integrated into the cell genome.
