Epic Fury

February twenty-eight and nobody voted yes
A president picked up the phone and ordered the address
No imminent attack declared no strategy explained
No authorization from the hill no legal ground obtained
The strait was open, shipping moved, the tankers filled the lane
The world was not on fire until we lit the flame
They called it Epic Fury like the branding was the win
Named the operation like a movie and then let the bombs begin
Sixty days the clock ran out the resolution clear
The president declared it done while troops were still out there
The ceasefire was a costume and the war powers a game
The Constitution does not bend because you changed the name
EPIC FURY — THE NAME THEY GAVE THE LIE
EPIC FURY — WHILE THE INNOCENT DIE
NO VOTE TO START IT — NO PLAN ON THE PAGE
THE PEOPLE SAID NO — BUT THE MACHINE TOOK THE STAGE
EPIC FURY — THE BRANDING OF BETRAYAL
EPIC FURY — THE EMPIRE ON SALE
THEY NAMED THE OPERATION LIKE THE NAMING WAS ENOUGH
EPIC FURY — CALLED IT GLORY — THE PEOPLE CALLED THEIR BLUFF
Lockheed up three point four the morning of the strike!
Raytheon shareholders celebrating through the night!
Forty years of broken deadlines bomb is always near!
Nineteen eighty-four they said the weapon would be here!
Netanyahu at the UN with his cartoon and his line!
Thirty years of crying wolf and running out of time!
Hudson Institute took four million from the trade!
The talking heads who sold the war were bought before they played!
The think tanks wrote the papers and the papers wrote the law
The senators took the briefings from the men who fund them all
The oil spiked to one ten and the traders made their cut
While mothers filled the food bank and the grocery budget cut
Nineteen fifty-three the blueprint laid the sovereign nation down
They took the oil they took the vote they took the crown
It was never about the bomb it was never about the threat
It was always about control and they are not finished yet
The strait was open.
Jerusalem fired. Washington followed.
Iran closed the water.
America blamed Iran for closing the water.
Then blockaded the ports they just bombed.
Then called it a ceasefire.
Then reset the clock.
Then said the war was over.
While the troops were still there.
While the ships were still stopped.
While the families went hungry.
Massie said it from the floor.
Five dollar gas. Six dollar diesel.
Fertilizer, farmers cannot afford.
The House dragged it to a vote. To stop it. Not to start it.
Article One. Section Eight. Clause Eleven.
Congress declares war.
Not one man with a phone.
Not one contractor with a board seat.
Not one think tank with a defense check.
The people said no.
Polls confirmed it.
Votes reflected it.
The machine ignored it.
So ask the only question that matters.
Who benefits.
Because it is not you.
They will tell you the enemy was always at the gate
They will tell you that the timing was unfortunate not fate
They will tell you that the contractors were serving freedom’s call
They will tell you that the market just reflects the rise and fall
The bomb was always two weeks out and forty years have passed
Two fifteen to two oh eight to stop what one man started
The machine rolls on regardless and the truth remains uncharted
The operation had a name.
The people had no vote.
The contractors had no conscience.
The machine had no end.
Massie read the Constitution.
The Speaker looked away.
Two fifteen to two oh eight.
The war went on.

Article One, Section Eight, Clause Eleven gives Congress the power to declare war. The track documents an operation that began without a vote, the defense stocks that moved the morning of the strike, and the forty-year record of a weapon always two weeks away.
